The Power of Decidim Awesome: Enhancing Participatory Democracy

In this workshop, we aim to introduce and explore the functionalities of Decidim Awesome. This module is used by all organizations that need more flexibility when managing the menu and administration, adding features to rich text, having a component to facilitate the visualization of iframes, and even customizing the fields of proposals to create your own form.

Objectives:
The Decidim community knows Awesome, but do they know how to use it to its full potential? The variety of democratic organizations that use it allows us to have very diverse and interesting use cases. Do you want to know them? Do you want to see if your use case fits? This is your workshop!

Bonus: If the redesign of Decidim, that is, version 0.28, is implemented 3-4 weeks before the workshop, we will dedicate a part of the workshop to identify the impacts and needs of the current functionalities.

Program:

The workshop will be divided into three main sections:

1. Introduction to Decidim Awesome: We will provide an overview of the module, explaining its purpose, features, and benefits. We will also share the story behind its development and our company's mission to support democratic engagement.

2. Hands-on Demonstration: Participants will be guided through a live demonstration of the Decidim Awesome module. We will showcase how to install and configure the module, and how to use its various features effectively. This will be an interactive session, encouraging participants to ask questions and share their thoughts.

3. *Use Case Discussion and Brainstorming: In this final section, we will present real-world examples of how Decidim Awesome can be utilized to enhance participatory processes. We will then facilitate a brainstorming session, encouraging participants to think about how they could implement the module in their own contexts.

*As we said in the introduction we may change this section in favour of evaluate the impact of 0.28 version in Awesome.

Target:

The aim of this workshop is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to implement Decidim Awesome in their own organizations or communities. We hope to inspire them to leverage this tool to foster more engaging, inclusive, and effective participatory processes.
