Workshop: a collective practical workshop to clarify together the aspects of contributing to the Decidim project.

How to stratify design contributors to make designs more accessible bottom up?

Tools & Spaces: Github, Metadecidim, Crowdin, Matrix

Personnas: Product team & roles, association members, DICE members, Partners, external contributors, power users, and adjacent communities (OpenSource Designers & other civic tech communities)

Dimensions: code contributions, translations (locales), and design contributions

Working inquiries:

  1. Who decides?

  2. Who prioritizes?

  3. Who ideates?

  4. Who co-designs?

  5. Who identifies bugs?

  6. Who proposes features?

  7. Who tests & validates?

Methodology: dividing the participants in groups of sizes following the 1-2-4 All method (liberating structures), the aim is to use the collective intelligence and diversity of experiences to map out different patterns and limitations to contributing effectively to the Decidim project in the first part of the workshop, to then prioritize the principal levers of change based on the Min Specs method (LS).

Deliverables: documentation to contribute and proposals on meta Decidim.

vision: make it easy and operationally clear for the community of contributors to scale on all aspects regarding code, design and translations :)

Logistical needs: space large enough to divide participants in groups, walls to hang up posters, tables and post-its
