A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.
About this process
Participatory process for the renewal of the current Coordination Committee
The System of Election and Renewal of the Coordination Committee is a procedure to elect the members of the Coordination Committee appointed to the following positions: president, treasurer, secretary and members who do not correspond to spokespersons of the thematic committees (9 people in total). Article 24 establishes that this procedure must be done as a participatory process articulated in different phases that will culminate with the election of the new positions within the new Coordination Committee.
The aim of this process is therefore to initiate a participatory process so that members can exercise their right to be candidates and/or voters for the future Coordination Committee. This process has been designed by the current Coordination Committee with the aim of guaranteeing the correct functioning and maximum transparency and participation at all times. The final result of this process is the formation of a new Coordination Committee that will take office for the next few years. Only members can elect or be elected to representative bodies such as this one.
