Avatar: Juan Leiva Juan Leiva

Finished

Integration with https://meet.jit.si/or similar videoconferencing system in order to make virtual assemblies in a simple way.

Update: Hello everyone, we have developed this module for the community while working on an official solution for online meetings by videoconferencing.

https://github.com/alabs/decidim-module-jitsi-meetings

It is a very simple module that is deployed as a component and allows you to insert a Jitsi room in a participatory process or an assembly.

We request that it be published as a community module on decidim.org and welcome feedback or any proposal for improvement by contacting hola@alabs.org

Hi @jleiva. This idea was long considered and I am pretty sure it was already on its way, but I haven't seen any progress. Here is what I think it could be a simple and nice way to implement this:

When the meeting is created the administrator has the choice to declare it physical, virtual or mixed. If Physical or mixed the address is compulsory to be a physical address, if virtual the address field is substituted by a URL.

An even simpler implementation would be to detect if the Address is a link or a physical address and just display accordingly.

We have sufficient fields to add additional information about the server and virtual meeting details.

I don't think it is a good idea to integrate with a specific online meeting service other than providing the url. It complicates things a lot and I am not sure what the benefit is for the cost involved.
