Roadmap 2026–2027: results of the feature proposal phase
Thank you to everyone who has taken part in this year’s roadmap process. After the phase of defining the strategic directions, we opened the space to propose, discuss, and vote on features aligned with those priorities, and today we’re happy to share the results.
In line with the agreed governance process and taking into account our current development capacity, the three most voted proposals will now be prepared for implementation. These proposals are especially aligned with the strategic goals of reducing technical and functional debt and improving interoperability.
Selected proposals for implementation:
These were the three proposals that received the strongest support during the voting phase:
Refactoring the surveys component (related to reducing technical and functional debt)
Improving platform performance (related to reducing technical and functional debt)
Interoperability with real-time messaging applications (related to improving interoperability)
Next, the Product Team will begin working on refining their scope, estimating the required effort, and coordinating with development companies, partners, and funding organizations, with the goal of making them available in upcoming releases.
This process has been the first full application of the new internal technological governance regulations. As with any first cycle, it is also a learning opportunity. We believe it’s important to now open a shared reflection on how the process worked and what could be improved or adjusted in future editions. Since the internal regulations process is still open, we could even consider organizing a dedicated meeting to discuss it together.
Thank you again for your involvement and for continuing to build Decidim collectively!
