Changes at "Democracy and global justice in the digital age"

Arriba una nova edició del Decidim Fest 21 i ho fa de la mà d'un repte cada vegada més complex; entendre des de múltiples òptiques les transformacions de la nostra societat i les seves interseccions amb les tecnologies. Aquestes ja estan a tot arreu, i els impactes són a molts nivells.

Obrim una conferència de tres dies des d'on pensar, entendre i reflexionar amb una mirada de 360 ​​graus la relació entre tecnologia i democràcia, des de la perspectiva dels drets i la justícia a escala global: els processos de resistència digitals i els desafiaments socials per fer enfront de les noves formes de control, el decolonialisme de dades i la justícia algorísmica davant de noves formes de desigualtat, els trans/hack/cyber feminismes, les transformacions del capitalisme en l'economia digital, els impactes de l'extracció de recursos per a la producció tecnològica o la justícia climàtica són alguns d'ells.

A partir de l'experiència de Decidim, i els principis i pràctiques acumulades després de 5 anys de projecte, seguim dialogant i construint per a l'acció, per al desenvolupament no només d'infraestructures digitals democràtiques obertes i lliures, sinó per a l'impuls de processos democràtics per la defensa dels nous drets en l'era digital i per al conjunt de processos de cooperació i emancipació social.

A new edition of Decidim Fest arrives and it does so with an increasingly complex challenge: to understand the transformations of our society and their intersections with technologies from multiple perspectives. These are already everywhere, and the impacts are at many levels. 

We open a three-day conference from which to think, understand and reflect on the relationship between technology and democracy, from the perspective of rights and justice on a global scale, with a 360º view: digital resistance processes and social challenges to face new forms of control, data decolonialism and algorithmic justice in the face of new forms of inequality, trans/hack/cyber feminisms, the transformations of capitalism in the digital economy, the impacts of the extraction of resources for technological production or climate justice are some of them. 

Based on decidim's experience, and the principles and practices accumulated after 5 years of the project, we continue to dialogue and build for action, for the development not only of open and free democratic digital infrastructures, but also for the promotion of democratic processes for the defence of new rights in the digital era and for all processes of cooperation and social emancipation.
