The technological and democratic context on a global scale is at a moment of profound inflection. The geopolitical, energy and climate impacts are transforming the current models of technological production and calling into question the current development model that sustains the Internet. The scenario of privatization and concentration of power of large technological companies continues to expand, while at the same time it has raised numerous alarms among governments and citizens due to its impact on society as a whole. Decidim has opened a small gap on an international scale in two directions: the development of open democratic technologies and the implementation of infrastructures for democracy and citizen participation. What are the challenges and risks of this uncertain present and future? How can Decidim contribute to the construction of an open, free, democratic Internet at the service of the people?
