Canvis a "Pot la descentralització arreglar les xarxes socials? Reptes i oportunitats per a la sobirania digital"

Les xarxes socials descentralitzades (com Mastodon, Element i, en certa manera, Bluesky) han irromput amb força en els últims mesos, posant en relleu el valor d'un model que redistribueix el poder entre les usuàries i les comunitats.

En un món marcat per la dualitat entre els Estats Units i la Xina, la descentralització es presenta com un camí cap a la sobirania tecnològica. Però, pot convertir-se en una alternativa global que garanteixi els drets digitals i la participació col·lectiva?

Aquest model planteja alguns reptes: el model de governança, la interoperabilitat entre plataformes i l'adopció massiva necessària perquè es converteixi en un estàndard global. Com poden aquestes xarxes evitar la captura corporativa o estatal? Quins models de governança estan adoptant? Quines lliçons podem aprendre de l'experiència de les seves comunitats?

En aquesta sessió, reunirem tres veus expertes vinculades a projectes descentralitzats que, des de diferents perspectives, debatran els reptes i oportunitats de construir xarxes socials veritablement democràtiques que siguin realment nostres.

Decentralised social networks (such as Mastodon, Element and, to a certain extent, Bluesky) have burst onto the scene in recent months, highlighting the value of a model that redistributes power to users and communities.

In a world marked by the US-China duality, decentralisation is presented as a path to technological sovereignty. But can it become a global alternative that guarantees digital rights and collective participation?

This model brings with it some challenges: governance model, interoperability between platforms and the mass adoption necessary for it to become a global standard. How can these networks avoid corporate or state capture? What governance models are they adopting? What lessons can we learn from the experience of their communities?

In this session, we will bring together three expert voices linked to decentralised projects who, from different perspectives, will discuss the challenges and opportunities of building truly democratic social networks that are truly ours.
