Welcome to the Conference
Cities are immersed in profound social and technological transformations and in recent years, there have been areas of innovation in which technological and social experimentation are closely related. In this context we find different models in dispute about how to understand and build both technology and society. That is why this day will open a dialogue and a debate about the evolution of the Decidim software.
The Coordinator of the Decidim Project will make an exposition of the origins as well as an assessment of the time the platform is. The Director General of Citizen Participation will also evaluate current Decidim as well as set out the future that the Generalitat of Catalonia imagine with Decidim.
There is not yet a single accepted definition of open government, although there are many features in the evolving definitions. The OECD in the book: The Way Forward describes the open government as "The transparency of government actions, the accessibility of government services and information, and the government's capacity to respond to new ideas, demands and needs "
The three main challenges
- Transparency: Let the public understand the functioning of their
- Public commitment: That the public can influence the functioning of their government through participation in governmental political processes and in service delivery
- Accountability: That the public may hold the government to account for its policy and the performance of the service.

Discussion and questions about experiences
Technology to facilitate day to day technology as a leisure option and technology to improve the quality of life. Within this last branch is the so-called civic technology, which opens up to the participation of citizens to offer services that benefit the welfare.
The City Council of Mieres, in the context of the pilot test of the Diputació de Girona, has promoted civic technology to achieve greater legitimacy and participation of its policies. In this experience, we will see how they have done it and are doing it possible.
The Federation of Associations of Parents of Catalonia (FAPAC) uses the Decidim for the coordination of the Territorial Coordinators, as well as with the vocation of making participatory processes. In this experience, they will show us what is their commitment with the Decidim.
This initiative aims to introduce the young people of the PFI to the labor market. It has been opened to Decidim the election of the name of the new cooperative for young people being created in Arbúcies. It is a project promoted from the Integrated Training Program (PFI) and which aims to make an accompaniment with integrated training for young people to manage, design and implement a business unit within a work cooperative.
