Introduction: At the moment decidim.barcelona is focused on participation processes, but there are other functionalities planned for the platform, among them serving as a system for collecting support for popular initiatives and/or carrying out citizen consultations.

Challenges: How should a process of gathering support for popular initiatives in the platform be structured and staggered? Who should be able to initiate them? Should it be possible to modify them during the process? Should a collective elaboration of the proposal be included? What relationship should the initiatives have with the participation processes?

Examples: Citizens' initiatives should be able to be incubated in the platform until a certain consensus is generated around the proposal to be made, and then move on to a People's Initiatives section where support is collected while facilitating the development and promotion of the initiative according to the number of supports it receives.
