Decidim Redesign
馃帹 Community participatory process for contributing to the Decidim redesign
In your experience, what are the 3 most important UX pain points that you detect in Decidim?
We begin the participatory redesign process by making a general diagnosis of the main UX pain points in Decidim.

Thank you all for your contributions!
It has become clear that the challenges to improve Decidim's usability are many and we must face them in order to make a qualitative leap. The team in charge of the redesign has been following the debate and has taken into account the contributions to start working. As a result we have the first Mockup where the navigation system and menus are redefined.
Please focus on naming 3 pain points to narrow down the debate.
鉁≒articipate and help us make Decidim more user friendly!

First of all, thank you for opening this debate!
Adding my top 3 of what was not already mentioned above:
types, scopes and areas selectors in /processes and /assemblies;
endorse/comment buttons on proposal cards when there are no endorsement or comment activated for this component;
filters in the search for all types of contents on Decidim even when many of them are not used at all (they appear in grey, but still confuse people);
We know Decidim is built for complex multi-spaces processes, so it lacks simplicity when one only needs to open a single process. The homepage or the process page could be hidden in such cases to limit the number of unecessary clicks, or we should be able to link the homepage card to a component and not always the process presentation.
Posting a first proposal takes 10 actions for a beginner who has no prior account, which is probably why Decidim platforms reach lower participation levels than competitors.
Sign up could be done in a modal opening on every page to avoid having users redirected when they found the place where they want to contribute (see for example the main French proprietary software https://fabriquecitoyenne.rennes.fr/)
The fourth step to "publish your idea" is redundant and confuses many users who consider their idea is already published.
Decidim remains quite awesome of course, but a lot can be done to make it better and simpler to use!
