Decidim in Brazil 🇧🇷

Last week, Ali González and Nil Homedes went on tour to Brazil to participate in América Abierta 2024. What did we do?

• Connected with the community at the University of Brasília (thank you, Lappis!).

• Organized the first meeting of Decidim LATAM, marking the start of our regional network.

A historic step for Decidim! ✨

Yes! We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government of Brazil, solidifying our collaboration to strengthen social participation, digital democracy, and free software. In this way, the Brazilian government is taking a decisive step by becoming involved in the collective governance of a digital public good, thus reaffirming its support for the project. This agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter to fortify the Decidim community in Brazil and Latin America.

Decidim partners with Barcelona Supercomputing Center 📊

We’re collaborating with the VCity project, led by the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and funded by the UNICO I+D Cloud program, to improve Open Data functionalities in Decidim. This project aims to develop advanced tools like Urban Digital Twins that help public administrations make data-driven decisions.
