Marta Anducas is the new president of the Decidim Association

The Coordination Committee met last week to elect a new president.

We are pleased to announce that Marta Anducas has been elected as our new president.

Below, we introduce the members of the Coordination Committee:

  • Marta Anducas (@martanducas) : Engineer and feminist advocate, Marta combines her experiences in tech and community participation in her learning and unlearning path. She actively contributes to Decidim, supporting co-creation processes and social innovation.

  • Carla Rocha (@carla_rocha): She is a professor and researcher at UnB, excels in software engineering, open-source, and participatory platforms. She coordinates Brasil Participativo, engaging 70+ collaborators to enhance civic digital platforms.

  • Ben Gansky (@bengansky): A Minneapolis-based artist, scholar, and civic engagement designer, Ben researches and facilitates work at the intersection of participatory democracy and digital governance. He is honored to support and represent the Decidim community. 

  • David Igon (@dabign): Working as a developer in open source and social economy, tries to improve autonomy and political participation through tech.

  • Txema Laullón (@txema): Legal, techno-political and participation consultant. Compliance Officer. Knowmad. Vagamundos. Onironaut. Anti-fascist. Retired.

  • Pauline Bessoles (@pops): Active in open source since 2019, she worked with Decidim in France before joining the Cryptpad and XWiki open source projects. She specializes in building ethical products, partnerships, and communities for open source projects. 

  • Alejandra Gonzalez (@basicavisual): Philosopher and developer, Alejandra has led civic tech in Mexico for 10 years. A former director of Open Government in Mexico City, where she first implemented Decidim and now working on releasing technical specifications for governments at GovStack.

  • Antonio Calleja (@alotria) is a sociologist, political scientist and philosopher that studies the relations between technology, politics, and society. As Tecnopolitica.net coordinator and Decidim cofounder, he critically explores socio-technical innovation, collaborative practices, and participatory democracy.

  • Xabier Barandiaran (@xabier) is associate professor in philosophy of cognitive science, technology, and democracy  at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). A founding Decidim member, he advises on democratic innovation, cognitive systems, and collaborative projects like WikiToki and Buen Conocer.
