Propose new functionalities for Decidim software
#DecidimRoadmap Designing Decidim together
Delete button for a participatory space
Hi!
We have a client who is interested in studying the functionality of a delete button. Our purpose would be to reopen the debate to clarify the possibilities and behavior of functionality.
First, I will add the discussions in the meta.decidim:
https://meta.decidim.org/processes/bug-report/f/210/proposals/14298
https://meta.decidim.org/processes/bug-report/f/210/proposals/12283
In fact, for the surveys component, it was discussed that it was possible to eliminate the component if there is no ansewrs. https://github.com/OpenSourcePolitics/decidim/pull/211. Now, we want to discuss to delete a participatory space.
The discussion is at this point: https://github.com/decidim/decidim/issues/4958#issuecomment-490494630 As @andres said, I open this proposal in order to discuss. Also, @oriol points out a very interesting topic to take into account: https://github.com/decidim/decidim/pull/4641.
Thanks

Conversation with Carol Romero
Hello, since this is a debate and not a concrete proposal I comment here as Carol and not as Product ;)
I think we have reached a certain consensus that this type of feature is needed, otherwise you can get to accumulate in the admin panel many "dead" spaces and this hinders the task of administrators.
My proposal is less drastic than deleting contents from the database:
* Instead of a delete button, you have a "send to trash" button. This way the space disappears from the admin panel, which is what you really want.
I would also add what @andres pointed out in github:
* It should have some kind of warning of what / how many components / contents are you deleting
* It should be traceable on admin log
If we agree on this I don't see many other problems to implement it.
Thanks @carol. Our proposal also goes in this direction. We are thinking of a button to "archive". Currently, the "archive" function is available in "moderation". When a comment is reported, it can be "archived". The behavior is that the proposal / comment disappears and the account is no longer counted.
If a process is "archived":
-Warning of what components with content are you hiding
-Traceable on admin log
-It is saved in the "archived" folder
-The content and components disappear from the states and metrics
- It's not possible to recover it (as proposals does)
