Propose new functionalities for Decidim software
#DecidimRoadmap Designing Decidim together
Send multiple notification emails in one ♻️
Accepted / In progress
Hello everyone, it would be great to send notification emails in batches instead of 1 by 1 as is currently the case,
this makes the platform impossible to track and leads users to disable notifications.
We might consider sending an email twice a day at consultation times (8:00-13:00) containing the notifications to which the user is subscribed.
This would strengthen user engagement, limit the loss of users and make our planet great again! 🌍

I made the same proposal months ago, Digest notifications
let's mix both of them!
100% agreed

Hey @Armand-OSP do you mean I'm loosing followers right now? 😂😂 (sorry for saturating the inbox!)
Fully agree with both proposals
Hi @carol, for our last nation wide operation, I noticed that the opening ratio was very low. This costs us a lot and is not eco-friendly. I must admit, I don't read my decidim notification for this reason.

Also, in notifications, something like this might be useful:
Too many notifications? Receive one per day - Disable all notifications
Yes!

@carol as we are talking about notifications how would you feel about adding CTAs (support, vote etc.) directly in the email notification. That would drive a lot of engagement.
I don't have a strong opinion on this. We've debated this in the product team a few times. If you mean that you can register the action directly from the newsletter:
- Do we want to encourage quick click action that can lead to clicktivism?
- Or do we want actions like supporting or voting to be a part of the process where there is also conversation and reflection?
I guess this is a tricky question and the answer will depend on the type of process we are carrying out at any given time.
That said, I think we could enrich the newsletters so that the links to content are more attractive (looking like buttons and encouraging action) 😊
@virgile_devile I think with this one we'll move forward in the direction that you were saying https://github.com/decidim/decidim/issues/5727
