Designing Decidim together
Add attachment(s) in a survey answer
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Our clients sometimes want users to upload a or several document as part of their survey answers.
Describe the solution you'd like
As an admin when creating question I can select a question type called "Attachement(s)".
When selecting the question type I have extra configuration options for the question :
I have a numerical field for how many files user can upload to the answer
[Nice to have] I can select the accept file extensions that I accept as an answer by ticking checkboxes. --> Is it technically feasable ?
[Nice to have] Revamp the UI for uploading files on Decidim (that could be applied to admin too) --> Needs impact evaluation on the rest of the upload buttons in Decidim (used in admin and by participants)
- Preview
- Delete button to account for mistake as it's not obvious that I have to click on the button again
- Drag and drop into an area
- Loading bars for the upload
- Preview

Hi @OSP please let's use the terminology that Decidim already has. In this case we are talking about Attachments :)
Also, what do you mean by [nice to have]? Is it part of the scope of the issue?
We will also need a design proposal for that. Thanks!
hi @carol,
We completly agree with your terminology comment. The proposal was updated accordingly.
We've had several terminology comment in our latest proposal. Does the product team has comprehensive glossary of the terms that we should use when creating proposals ? Thanks in advance.
Regarding the "nice to have", we've been working on this with @microstudi and are still awaiting funding confirmation.
So these are more implementation ideas. Happy to help refining them.
