Children assemblies visibility
Hi everyone,
I have a problem, I'd like to create a public grandchild assembly inside a private & non transparent child assembly.
As the assembly index only display parents assemblies, users can't find my grandchild assembly there, and the child assembly being private & non tansparent,, they can't either access the grandchild going through there.
I have an additional question about this feature : in the 0.18-stable version, a similar problem touches the admin panel.
The "sub-assemblies" button isn't available to the admin after 1 generation of assemblies, even though he can create at least 4 generations. So, once he created grand-children, he can't find them directly on the admin panel.
Thanks for your answers !

Hi @Pops!
I think what you say isn't possible. When I imagine a "hierarchy" of the assemblies of an organization I see:
Mother Assembly - Level 0 - All members
Child Assembly - Level 1 - A part of the members
Grandchild Assembly - Level 2 - A part of the child assembly members. In any case, the grandchild assembly, such as a very specialized commission, may perhaps invite experts as "private participants."
What would your use case be like? It seems interesting what you say.
On the other hand, for what you say about the admin panel you are right. Maybe it should be reported as a bug? Or define what is the maximum level that the assemblies can have? You could raise the debate in the bug process. :D
Hi @paarals !
Thanks for your answer!
I was picturing a hierarchy more like that for a use case :
- A monitoring committee (Level 0) with a few members (private), monitoring several working groups
- Several working groups (Level 1) with more members (public)
(- And so on with more specialized working groups)
I think your hierarchy is more logic, but less appropriate in the case of the internal governance of an organization.
Okay, I report the bug about the sub-assemblies in the admin panel. :D
Thanks again!
Here it is:
The "sub-assemblies" button isn't available to the admin after 1 generation of assemblies
I was just login to make the same report so I get your text for it.
Meanwhile someone manage visibility issues of a public assembly child from a private one, an option could be:
- Container assembly (level 0) just with the basic information page, a public one
- Child assemblies (level 1) with monitoring commitee (private) and several working groups (public) at the same level.
Thank you @josanFFiG for reporting the bug!
It's a good idea, I'll try and see :)
