Split & Merge proposals
Hi, I would like to know how the action of dividing and merging proposals should behave.
1. Should I be able to merge 2 proposals in the same component of Proposals or should it be in another component?
2. How does the merge process work?
3. How does the process of split work?
Right now:
1. No, I cannot merge or divide into the same component. But at the same time, it allows you to select the component.
2. Copy the title of the first proposal and make a "copy and paste" of the description of the two proposals.
3. The same proposal is doubled with the same title and the same description.
The 2 and 3 always in another component.
Is that correct?

Hi Pau,
Should I be able to merge 2 proposals in the same component of Proposals or should it be in another component?
No, you shouldn't. You need to create another component in which you merge/split the proposals.
How does the merge process work?
Select 2 or more proposals. The merged proposal inherits the title of the first proposal you have selected. Then you edit the body of the proposal to adapt the wording so that it reflects the contribution of the original proposals, which appear as related.
How does the process of split work?
Select 1 proposal. Once divided you have two exact copies that you must edit to turn them into 2 different proposals. The original proposal appears as related.
For context, take a look at: https://github.com/decidim/decidim/issues/1970
Thanks a lot @carol!
Hi @paarals I've been working for a while with proposals merging and I've found out that you can merge oficial proposals (the ones you create from de back office as and admin) in the same component and you can also edit them. On the other hand, to merge participants' proposals, it can only be done in another proposal component.
