[ES] Definición de la visión de la comunidad / [EN] Definition of the community's vision
[ES] Un posible texto para la Visión de la Organización sería: "Un mundo en la que todas y cualquiera de las personas puede participar democráticamente en los asuntos que le afectan.
[EN] A possible text for the Organization's Vision would be: "A world in which any and all people can participate democratically in matters that affect them."
This proposal has been rejected because:
Despite having more support from the minimum considered, the proposal has not been accepted because it has opted for a more appropriate definition and that better reflects the philosophy and vision of the project; specifically the proposals with reference: MDC-PROP-2019-01-13634 and MDC-PROP-2019-01-13636

"A world in which anybody and everybody can participate democratically what affects them"
Conversation with Pau Parals
Nowadays, millennials understand the world with 2 prefix: "co" and "trans". I would like to add words which can be co-lead, transcultural. I mean, people don't deserve a world where we can just participate. We aspire to co-lead our challenges with citizenship in the world. Also, this tool must also be capable of managin diversity. Our focus must be give respond to the crisis of political parties and social inequalities which are increasing.
Good points @paarals I think we defend a very strong meaning of participation which includes the "co-" part for sure. Regarding the "trans-" prefix, I think it is well covered by the expersion "anybody and everybody" which nicely covers a sense of all (everybody) and difference (anybody). Do you have a specific wording that cold help improve this Vision?
I also find "can participate democratically what affects them" not too ambitious. We have this right now in Catalunya/Spain/Europe. Participate may mean to let us talk but that's all. I think that we must struggle to provide best algorithms to provide "binding" decisions systems. So that Decidim can promote co-leadership, and be used as a best tool for this purposes.
I use promote in the sense of provide education on this. But also make it the more default as possible to use binding spaces/processes/components.
It is nice to hear that. Of course we want a strong participation: binding decision making. If you check the White Paper, recently published, we define democratic participation as "taking the part of the sovereignty that belongs to you: that is an equal part for each person". The vision should state that very clear. Since this is an old "official" proposal we cannot modify right now, I suggest we focus on discussiong it at the collaborative draft proposal where w can modify and improve it.
@oliver_valls @paarals maybe we can follow the discussion here: https://meta.decidim.org/processes/decidim-gov/f/961/collaborative_drafts/6
I think the VISION stated in the collaborative draft is better and more in line with your suggestions.
