Goodbye Decidim Fest 2025
The Decidim Fest has come to an end, and we must say that this has been a truly special edition. We held the General Assembly of the Decidim Association with more participants than in recent years, enjoyed bold debates on digital sovereignty in the fight against authoritarian technologies, and had a great time with the community, the heart of this fantastic initiative.
Catch up on the true highlights of the Fest:
The DPGA Annual Members Meeting
Our dear colleagues Ricardo Poppi and Renato Coral, are representing Decidim at the Digital Public Good Alliance Annual Members Meeting in Brasilia this week. They showcased their experiences with Plataforma de Participación Ciudadana de Uruguay and Brasil Participativo, underlying how they customised the Decidim functionalities and modules.

Build Peace Conference
Nil Homedes has been at the Build Peace Conference, participating in the session “How Do We Use Deliberative tech to Discuss Polarizing Legislative Processes in Democracies?” togehter with Nerima Wako-Ojiwa from Siasa Place. The conversation was very interesting, centered around the challenges of participatory technology, inclusion and citizen empowerment.

In the Spotlight
At Decidim we like to recommend interesting articles, resources and materials about our community and open source ecosystem. In this edition we focus on highlighting really important milestones for the Decidim Association and some useful resources and interventions.
The Decidim Association launches the Committee of Public Institutions with six global institutions: The Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Barcelona Provincial Council, Localret, the City of New York and the Federal Government of Brazil have joined forces to coordinate the democratic digital platform.
Barcelona is the first city in the world to endorse the UN Open Source Principles: The Decidim Association collaborated in the signature of the City Council of the UN Open Source Principles, a commitment to promote open, safe and sustainable technologies, accessible to all.
Why technology is political: new podcast about Decidim at Democracy Innovators. In this new podcast, Carol Romero, Product Manager at Decidim and Andrés Pereira de Lucena, Chief Technology Officer of Decidim, give us a powerful reminder: digital platforms are never neutral.
