Propose new functionalities for Decidim software
#DecidimRoadmap Designing Decidim together
Improve the usability of the map
Currently, the map available in meetings is very large. One of our clients asks us if we could improve the usability of the map by locating it in another place, without being so big or accessing the location on the map when the participant wants to know the location of the meeting.
We propose to reproduce the map that exists in conferences and have the ability not to show it as the help section. You can see it in the attached image.
We would like to open the debate around the map, to know what the opinion of the community is, because we don't know if it will be the best solution.

Maybe @virgile_deville you have something to say as I've seen your proposal Enhance UX for the user interaction with the map
Conversation with Carol Romero
Hi @paarals, we have reviewed the proposal, but we would need more definition of the proposed solution. Also, is there any funding available? Thanks
Hi @product, thanks for the answer. We don't have the solution, that's why I open to the community. Our goal is to make more usable the maps of meetings (now it is too big and could be annoying). We have funding but we want a solution that satisfaing the community.
My proposal is to divide the map image. To the left, the headquarters of the troabdes. To the right, the map. Also, like the help sections, have the cover available to hide it.
If you believe that there can be a better solution where to locate the map of meetings we are also open.
Thanks
We have discussed the proposal, and considered the proposed solution of dividing the map, but this breaks the system of card-based design for meetings.
Ideally, we would have different views for proposals and meetings (list view, grid view, map view), but for that we need a design and usability expert to review the current system.
So, until we have it and going to the current problem to be solved, one option is to add a setting in the configuration of meetings that allows you to hide the map. This way only the M cards are shown and you can know the specific location of each meeting by clicking on it.

Thanks for the answer @product. We will do it as you indicate. In addition, if it seems good we will put a link in the card of meetings so that the user can visit the map. Image: https://imgur.com/jJQO966
This is good, go ahead and thanks for the contribution!
Also, @paarals please link here the github link once open. Thanks!
