HACKATHON: Web Programming

Introduction: The implementation of the new version of Decidim is designed to facilitate a modular and scalable development that facilitates the collaboration in the development process in such a way that new functionalities or modules can be integrated into Decidim without altering the core of the platform itself. The possibilities of growth of a platform like Decidim are enormous, both for being installed by other municipalities or other organizations, and for the incorporation of new functionalities.

Challenges: To the development of the new modular and scalable version of the platform is added that of solving bugs detected in the current code. This working group would review the tickets in both versions, and in case you know how to program Ruby on Rails you could leave the PullRequests ready with the resolution of the issues; in case you don't know the language but know some programming, you can review the tickets of the new version those that are in planning state to make the definition of functionalities, data models, etc.

Examples: Replace the GoogleStreetMaps dependency with OpenStreetMap, mark default checkbox in log, check translations and modify texts, correct errors (bugs in programming).
