[EN] The maximum effort will be put into mantaining debtless and crediless finances. In case of need, the organization cannot ask credit or accumulate debt beyond a limit that puts at risk the viability of the project. For Decidim to go into debt means paying back with interest.
If we are structured as an association, hence not business model oriented. I'm wondering with which source of revenue are we thinking to pay back.
Hi @virgile_deville . Good comment. I think we should always avoid debt. Yet, if needed Decidim should be sustainable, non-for-profit doesn't mean the association would not have revenues or funding sources. For example you can ask for a loan to launch a crowdfunding campaign with the expected return of the investment, or you might need to ask some money to cover the salary of a technician because an expected funders is late on funding. Who knows! No business oriented != Not economically sustainable and revenue aware.
Thanks for the clarification @xabier . Crystal clear now!
I will publish this. It was the result of a working group. And there is no open debate, so I assume it is ok as it is, and deserves publishing. The period for publication finishes today so I am afraid it won't be published on time if I forget to do it now :)
